Walking the Talk explores walking and listening as relational methods for approaching climate action. Highlighting research from Canada and the US, contributors to this book posit that resilience during a time of climate crisis is contingent upon relational repair at all levels: between individuals, between communities, and between humans and our more-than-human world. Walking and other embodied acts connect us to our communities, helping to co-create local responses to mitigate and adapt to a warming planet. Drawing on research and expertise from ecology, art practice, petrocultures research, Indigenous knowledge systems, land-based learning, and sustainability, these contributions underscore the interdisciplinary and transformative possibilities of walking as a research, artistic and pedagogical methodology.
