Geneviève Bonnard und Denis Woffray sind Teil jener Westschweizer Architektengeneration, die sich infolge des Niedergangs der Postmoderne etablierte und deren Architektursprache sich durch Minimalismus, Materialbewusstsein und Ortsbezogenheit auszeichnet, zugleich aber experimentierfreudig und facettenreich ist. Das spiegelt sich im Werk des in Monthey ansässigen Büros bei ihren vielseitigen Bauaufgaben wider: von der Primarschule in Bovernier (2010), deren neues Volumen sich am Fuss eines Hangs topografisch anschmiegt und mit einer sich im Grundriss wie im Schnitt faltenden Wand die notwendigen Aussenräume für Pause und Sport freigibt, über die Anlaufstelle für Erwachsene in Notlagen in Saxon (2015), bei der Gemeinschaftsbereiche im Erdgeschoss und Wohnräume für kurze wie längere Aufenthalte in den Obergeschossen untergebracht sind und deren Materialwahl industriellen Charakter mit wohnlicher Atmosphäre verbindet, bis hin zum Complexe Gare Sud in Siders (2019), dessen schräggestellte Brüstungsbänder die Gebäudehülle je nach Sonnenstand in variierenden Farbakzenten erstrahlen lassen.

Geneviève Bonnard and Denis Wœffray belong to a generation of architects from western Switzerland who established themselves following the decline of postmodernism. Their architectural language is characterized by minimalism, an awareness of materials and a focus on the location, while at the same time being experimental and multifaceted. This is reflected in the work of the Monthey-based practice in their diverse construction projects: from the primary school in Bovernier (2010), whose new volume nestles topographically at the foot of a slope and, with a wall that folds in both plan and section, provides the necessary outdoor spaces for breaks and sports, to the drop-in center for adults in need in Saxon (2015), where communal areas are located on the ground floor and living spaces for short and longer stays are located on the upper floors, and whose choice of materials combines an industrial character with a homely atmosphere, to the Complexe Gare Sud in Siders (2019), whose sloping parapet bands allow the building envelope to shine in varying color accents depending on the position of the sun.
