The first year of college can be pretty demanding, especially for Simon Foxx, a socially inept photographer for the school's newspaper, whose only real strength is the courage of curiosity; so, when he wakes up one autumn morning to discover the End of the World already in progress, what is he to do? Take pictures, of course! But when his curiosity-and his camera-rescue a remarkably bitter young woman from a fate worse than death, she allows him to tag along with her during a fantastic escape-into Earth's past! Can they survive each other as well as the challenges of worlds that ceased to exist long before their own lifetimes? Can they figure out what happened to the world of the future-and more importantly, find a way to fix it?
