The Sky is a Gate, from the author of Necropole and Poetry is Mindfulness (among others), is a collection of poems mostly written during the pandemic year of 2020 in which the poet explores the effects of the pandemic on himself and life in general. The collection also includes the long poem "The Social Schedule of Death", which examines the possibility of the transcendence of relationships, in the context of the poet's metaphysical outlook. The next-to-last poem in the collection, before "The Social Schedule of Death", titled "Apology to Christians" is a provocative declaration of spiritual independence every inquiring-minded person should read.
