Mallanaga Vatsyayana was an ancient Indian philosopher and scholar, believed to have lived in India between the 1st and 6th centuries CE during the Gupta Empire. Though little is known about his personal life, his monumental compilation, the Kama Sutra, remains the most famous and widely read ancient Sanskrit treatise on human sexuality, emotional fulfillment, and the art of living. His profound observations on human psychology and social behavior continue to offer a fascinating window into the cultural life of ancient classical India.
