The discovery of thank you letters stashed away in a cardboard box at the Scituate, MassachusettsTown Hall marked the beginning of journey back in time. Writings in response to a special gift that the town of Scituate had sent them at Christmas time began arriving. The writers expressed hope, patriotism, loneliness, gratitude and especially pride in their hometown. We can only hope that we have successfully conveyed these emotions to the reader and have done justice to those who sacrificed so much.
